CSC104 SLOG

This whole week, I worked on my first project. It was hard to start because I had trouble defining a function and I was working alone. For some of the functions, I needed to change and try the definition lot of times in order for the check-expect to all pass. I went to office hours to get help. It was really helpful because sometimes I was stuck in one part for long time and getting explanation and help from the T.A.s helped to go pass that and also understand the functions. When I started to get it, after that I was able to go to next step more faster and was able to complete the project.

After seeing the midterm marks on markus, I realized I have missing steps in some of the questions. I should make sure I have all the steps that is required to show on the next midterm. The quiz for this week was not that difficult but I should have studied harder. The first project is now posted on course website but I am not sure how to start it. I should get help from office hour.

We had our first midterm this week. For preparing for my midterm, I did past tests to make sure I understand the concepts and to know what is expected to be asked on the midterm. I also reviewed the lecture notes and tutorial notes. Studying for the midterm helped me to practice how to write check-expects and design a definition from the check-expects. Since there was no answer key for the past midterms, I was not sure how much we are suppose to write to get the full credit for showing the steps.
